Writer not paid for 8 months
“I've written three paid freelance pieces for a publication but haven't been paid...
…I've brought this up with the editor twice now only to receive, "So sorry about this! I'll get the relevant person to send the payment asap".
It's not some scam, either. They're a pretty well-known but independent publication, and I've written for them over the span of about eight months. The pay isn't a lot but I'm owed about $130 collectively for the three pieces.”
That was posted on Reddit over the weekend.
…And it’s not the only thread about getting slow paid…
Since not being paid on time (or at all) is a semi-common theme in freelancing?
I don’t recommend it unless writers have other streams of income already.
Call me crazy?
I prefer to be paid on time…
And preferably?
Paid monthly for content I wrote once.
That’s why writing short Kindle books has me as excited as a dog with two tails.
Amazon always pays on time.
…And sales can come in for months or years after writing the content.
I call it the 1/ 25/ $500 plan.
The goal is:
In 1 week, write a 25+ page Short Read (with AI’s help), that’ll make $500/month…
…Then stack those Short Reads week after week!
So we don't have to worry about being ghosted on freelance jobs.
BONUS: For the handful of people who continue past the free class?
Send me a copy of your receipt and I’ll show you how to LEGALLY use Other People’s Content to create your Short Reads…
With this technique you can start turning out helpful, valuable books, in an evening or a lunch break.
Unfortunately I can’t let everyone in on this method because it’d become saturated - so only the next few people will get it.
First come. First served.
In your corner,
