5 True Wealth Tools & 3 Life Wasters
An 8 minute read that save you 8 years on the road to financial freedom...
It’s me:-)
Travis Sago again…
We’re still getting to know each other, so I hope this long note doesn't go too deep too fast.
One of my weird flaws as I ride the dork bus of life is that it is HARD for me to make small talk.
If you were to come over to my home in Arkansas…
I’m not the kind of fella who talks about the weather, sports and stuff.
Other than catching up with each other about what’s happening on Walking Dead!
But even then…
I’ll steer the convo to how zombies are like life!
With that said…
I wanted to share something with you that helped me semi-retire at age 38.
(I’m 56 now.)
I’ve been semi-retired for almost 20 years.
It took my father passing away when I was 35 to wake me up and light a fire under my rear.
(That’s a story for another day.)
But…
I hope this helps you lop off feet, yards or miles on your road to financial independence…
I’d love to know if you’d like more like this or not?
Here she be:
The 5 True Wealth Tools & 3 Life Wasters
The only 5 true wealth tools REALLY NEEDED to get anything you want - and 3 things everyone thinks they need that really waste years of their life...
👉Clear view of reality
👉Creativity
👉Courage
👉Commitment to ...
👉a Campaign
A clear view of reality is SUPER rare these days. Those who have it are very valuable.
We were born with creativity and courage, but they are like muscles. They go soft when not used. The good news is like a muscle, they come back fast with a little exercise.
Commitment to a single path is a courageous act. It takes courage to DECIDE (cut off other options) and follow ONE PATH!
A focused commitment to a single purpose which has many actions is a campaign.
Most don't run campaigns. They give something a "try." They won't run campaigns because there is no commitment - and there is no commitment because it takes courage to keep going when results don't come immediately.
Now...
What people THINK they need to get what they want:
❌ Money
❌ Time
❌ Other people's approval
Money and time are the 2 biggest excuses I hear from people of all economic levels about why they can't/don't live the life they want.
Let's take money...
One of the things that became clear to me the more I practiced being an investor is how little I really needed money.
What IS required is the 5 wealth tools above to FIND AN AMAZING DEAL!
👀For example:👀
I made deals on parcels of land for 1/4 of what they could be sold for retail.
When you've got a purchase agreement signed on a 3-acre lot for $15,000 and recent sales are going for $15,000 an acre ($45,000)...
Investors will fund you FAST for a split of the profits.
^real deal BTW: I sold that parcel in 2 days.
There are good deals to be found EVERYWHERE.
I like intellectual property.
One of Warren Buffet's first deals as a KID...was buying pinball machines for $25 and then placing them in barber shops for 50% of the money collected...He'd have his money back in the first week or two...and then go buy more pinball machines and do it again.
What Warren Buffet did with pinball machines, I do with intellectual property.
I get control. Fix it up a bit. Cash flow it.
As a kid...
One of my money makers was painting curb numbers.
I often didn't have the "startup" funds.
No problem.
Because I was a kid with creativity...
I would sell one and get the money in advance, then go to the hardware store to buy paint, stencils, brushes, and other supplies.
I'd parlay that first purchase into a couple hundred bucks.
Cash is certainly helpful.
But it doesn't stop anybody from living a good life.
Time.
Same thing...
If you get decent at FINDING GREAT DEALS with lots of juicy profit...
You'll have all the money you want.
Once you've got the money lined up...(even if it's not yours)
You'll have peeps lined up to give you their time for a wage, salary or percentage.
👀EXAMPLE:👀
On another land deal...
I bought a piece of land for $30,000...
And I gave 6% to my broker for selling it.
He put out the signs, took the pictures, drove people out there, and did everything for that 6 percent.
We ended up selling for $80,000.
Everyone was happy.
Money and time don't stop anybody from having the life they want.
Now...
Let's cover the last one...
Other people's approval...
In a world where everyone is tryna be a social media influencer or star...
It seems like if peeps don't like us we're fucked.
It's not a clear view of reality.
Just last week I "overheard" a convo about Elon Musk.
"I hate Elon Musk, but we live out in the boonies and I've got to have fast internet so we bought Starlink."
Yep.
We buy things or do business with folks that solve a problem or fill a need.
People do buy from folks they like, know and trust UNTIL they've got a problem that is solved faster, easier or cheaper BY A STRANGER...or even someone they don't like.
When I look around...
I buy all kinds of stuff from companies I know NOTHING about.
I don't remember who manufactured my iPhone case.
I've got a scanner by Fujitso, but I know nothing about them.
I'm drinking coffee from a cup, but I couldn't tell you who made it, even if I had to save my life.
How about them oil companies?
Nobody much loves them.
But we ALL use their stuff.
We don't need money, time, or people to like us to live an AMAZING LIFE; we 100% design our own way!
We do need...
The 5 True Wealth Tools!
When we focus on developing them everything becomes possible.
When we focus on lack of money, time, or other peeps approval, we spin out and burn out.
Rooting for Ya,
Travis
