3 Safest Spots in Any Town to do Local Deals
Even the smallest towns have at least 1 of these 3 places.
“Here’s a screenshot of my location - just in case.”
My friend, who’s 6’3” and probably 250lbs+, texted me when he was meeting a random person to buy a Macbook to resell off Marketplace.
The guy selling the laptop was super nice but…
My friend’s “What if?” was real.
How can we stay safe, and have peace of mind, when making local deals?
To start - meet in a coffee shop during the day.
90% chances of anything bad happening is removed right there.
While I don’t mind an occasional Grande Double Mocha Sugar Syrup Coffee?
… Personally?
I’m on the cautious side.
(After all - I’m a buck fifty five soaking wet.)
… So a coffee shop still isn’t my first choice...
However, there are 3 places I would willingly meet a gang of tattooed Hell’s Angels without batting an eye.
Because…
Trying anything at these places is an instant “Go Directly to Jail”.
Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.
…And I’ve never been to a town that didn’t have at least 1 of these 3 places…
They are:
Banks (ideally with a sitting area)
Post Office
Police Station
All 3 have as many cameras as a movie set and…
…While I’m not a lawyer…
Pretty sure trying something shady at any of them? Is hard time.
Which is why I feel comfortable having hundreds of dollars in cash on me at these places.
Speaking of cash?
Another reason to meet at your bank is - you don’t have to have cash on you.
Check over the device you’re buying…
… make sure everything works…
Then go to the teller and get the money.
Easy. Peasy.
I know some people are concerned about doing local meet ups.
Hope this shows, no matter who you are, anyone can safely profit flipping phones and other fun stuff.
In your corner,
